The topic here is the “generation three” Moeskeeto Bar. Specifically, the bar’s new center section. The Moeskeeto Bar is a “foiling” spreader bar. The foils are hydrofoils and they help to keep the spreader bar on the waters surface. Remember, a spreader bar is a surface lure and on the water’s surface is where it is designed to run.
The generation one and two center sections were good and worked, but, each had its good and bad characteristics. The generation three (new) center section has combined the good and has eliminated the bad from the gen one and two sections. This generation three Moeskeeto Bar is the end result of over five years of constant fishing and testing. I now have a very, very good spreader bar that will perform well in any of your troll spread positions, and will out perform any spreader bar in the way, way, way, way back position.

New generation 3 center sections are black. Older generation is the small blue piece.
Why can’t I leave well enough alone? Why, because I can’t, its not me. Today I had a two hour meeting with engineers, toolmakers and others. Two topics were discussed. One topic was the UpRigger. I’ll not visit about the UpRigger today, but will get back here in about a month with the news and update. The other topic we discussed was a revision for the center section designed for the gen three foil bar named the Moeskeeto Bar. The gen one foil bar was a good bar, the gen two was better and the new Moeskeeto bar is the best yet. However, I felt a very small revision would make the center section even better, so, its now in the works. I’ll report back here with the results of all the efforts in about two months.
Design work continues on the new center section for the Dangerous Dredge. The current center section works well and the dredge works as designed. Coupled with a trolling weight, a planer or downrigger, you have a very good sub-surface, multi-teaser presentation. I’m thinking… ”wouldn’t it be nice to have a dredge that will dive and swim sub-surface without the need for the extra paraphernalia?” Stand by folks…it’s in the works.
